Annual Program - May 30, 2010

Preparations are well under way for our annual program on June 19th.  The children have been practicing extremely hard and the results are starting to show.  The parents committee is now selling tickets for the show.  Tickets are $5 each with children of Vidhya Kunj being free.  So please invite and encourage your family and friends to attend.    Note that tickets will not be sold at the door since we need to plan for the amount of food to prepare.   The parents committee will be contacting you a week before the show to inform you regarding the quantity of food to prepare.

The children’s costumes for the show will be handed out on June 12th by Asha Patel and Prianka Ghayal.  There is a $20 deposit for each costume.  This year we are requesting that all deposits be cheques made out to Vidhya Kunj.  No cash please.  So please remember to bring in your cheques on June 12th.  Costumes must be returned by or at the picnic on the following Saturday.  Costumes returns will not be accepted on the night of the show.

Find enclosed a list of assigned duties for the day show.  Please review and talk to us if you have questions or concerns.  In general, please try to help where ever possible.

Skating Outing - February 6, 2010

The cold weather is back, so let’s make the most of it.  It’s that time of the year again where we get to enjoy the great Canadian outdoors.  This coming Saturday, February 6th we are planning our annual outdoor skating outing starting at approximately 9:45AM.

We will be using the outdoor rink facilities in the park adjacent to the school.  If your child would like to skate, please ensure that they bring skates on that day.  Also, please ensure that they are dressed appropriately for outdoor activities.  Children are encouraged to wear helmets as well.  Indoor activities will be planned for those children not wanting to participate in the skating.  Parents are encouraged to bring along their skates and join their child in what should usually is a fun filled event.

Please return the bottom part of the Trip Approval Form sent home with your child indicating whether your child will be skating or not.   Children without signed permission slip will not be able to skate.

Note, should the weather not co-operate, we will reschedule for a future date.
